HFC is excited to announce the start of the U8 spring
season in February. We will still be following
the 1 practice and 1 match day schedule that we used in the
Fall. The first week of the season will consist of a practice
on the 22nd and 24th and then move into the 1 practice./1 match
system.
We are hoping for fewer rain outs this Spring than in the Fall,
but just in case we will offer make ups for rain out days on
Saturday mornings from 9-10 am. These rain out sessions will be
used to make up missed games or practices.

YTS Program Goal
The Youth
Training System or YTS Developmental Program’s goal is to enhance player
development through the creation of a learning environment for U8, U9
and U10 players. At the developmental age group, the focus is to
establish a strong technical base, develop athleticism, teamwork and
sportsmanship. The ultimate goal
for YTS players is to develop a love for the game.
With the love of the game comes a passion for skill acquisition.
Training will be structured in a way that maximizes each player’s
development, through individual instruction and multiple small-sided
game situations. YTS players will compete in appropriate game scenarios
throughout the available developmental period.
Training Curriculum
The age-appropriate curriculum follows the US Soccer Best Practices and
NSCAA curriculum, and is designed to develop technical skills that can
be used in tactical situations. Players are trained in pools and as
teams to allow maximum exposure to all the coaches and age group players
in the YTS.
Costs
The YTS is a subsidized Huntsville Futbol Club program through the
Club’s fundraising efforts. The goal is to keep the fees as low as
possible to make developing a love for soccer and a good fundamental
training by certified and licensed coaches available to everyone
interested in soccer. Club costs are incurred on a seasonal basis and
the fees for spring are less than the fall. Spring fees will be provided
in February.
U8 – U10 costs include coaching fees, player
registration fees, and practice field fees per player, these are
considered club fees. U9 & U10 teams incur league registration, game
referee fees, and tournament entry fees which players divide among
themselves -- these fees are considered team fees.
Remaining club dues amount
must be paid by August 1.
U8
The U8 YTS introduces children to soccer skills in a fun learning
environment. First and foremost, the program is designed to teach
players correct technique and winning 1v1 situations while allowing them
to have fun and develop a love for the game.
Play is in a 4 v 4 format allowing players to get more involved
in the play. The program
includes two 1-hour events a week -- one night dedicated to practice and
one night focused on 4 v 4 games.
Season: August

U9
At the U9 level, development still focuses on correct
technique, 1v1, small group play and growing their love of the game.
This is also the introduction of team play with a goalkeeper.
Playing format is 6 v 6; maximizing players’ number of touches on the
ball. Players will train 2 times a week and play games on Friday. During
the season, the teams will play 6 – 8 games against other local teams.

entering the teams into our local tournaments.
