Ian Harding  - Staff Coach

Ian Harding has many many years of top level experience coaching competitive soccer in the Huntsville area. His professional experience back in England, along with his collegiate experience at UAH make him a great asset to the program and we look forward to his assistance as he coaches the Boys Kicks 89 White, and Lady Kicks 93 Black in the 2005/2006 year.

• UAH Individual Career Record Holder 1st in points, 2nd in goals, 3rd in assists 1977-1980 N.A.I.A. Conference All Tournament Team in 1978 and 1980

• U.A.H. Most Valuable Soccer Player 1979 and U.A.H. Team Captain in 1979 and 1980 Inducted in the UAH Hall of Honor 1990

• Captain of the State of Alabama Men’s select team in the 1993 Regional Championship

POST GRADUATION: Club Soccer Coach for various teams. High School Boys JV & Varsity Soccer Coach 1997-2004. The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Assistant Soccer Coach in 1995 & 1996. Men’s Club soccer team finished 2nd in 1991 and semifinalist in 1993 for the Southeast Regional Championships. Various Alabama Men’s Soccer State Championships. Awarded the 14th and 12th place finish in Huntsville’s WAAY Triathlon in 1983 and 1984. Finished Huntsville’s 10K Cotton Row Run in less than 40 minutes. United States Tennis Association (USTA) rating of 4.5 and played in the Volvo and Huntsville Industrial League 1986-90. AHSAA Coaching Principles and First Aid Certificates.

INSTRUCTOR: Nautilus weight and circuit training instructor in 1985. Swimming teacher and trainer at the club level. Scheduling and officiating UAH Intramural as part of the Student Life Program. Various soccer clubs as stated above.

b(1977-1980) Four year varsity scholarship for soccer. UAH Men’s Soccer team finished in 2nd, 4th and 7th place in the 1978-1980 N.A.I.A. National Finals. UAH swimming pool manager and lifeguard holding a Bronze Medallion from the Royal Life Saving Society (Equivalent to a Water Safety Instructor). Member of the UAH tennis team as a club sport and 3rd place finish in the UAH tennis intramural.

COLLEGE RECREATION COURSES: Soccer Officiating, weight and circuit training, beginning/intermediate tennis, beginning/intermediate/advanced swimming, softball and basketball.

HIGH SCHOOL HONORS: High School Varsity Captain. I was selected for the District and County Teams. I represented the U/19 Middlesex 1st XI soccer team for the London region in the National Tournament. Member of the Fulham juniors (Professional)
