HFC Player Invited to Participate in
the U.S.
Soccer Training Center:
Avery Batson with the
HFC 97 Blue girls was
invited to participate in the U.S. Soccer Training Center in
Suwanee,
GA on
February 8, 2012
U.S. Soccer Training Centers are
designed to replicate national team training camps. As the
National Governing Body of soccer in the
United States, and under the auspices
of the United States Olympic Committee, we are empowered and
charged with developing the teams that represent the
United States
in all international competitions such as the Olympics and
World Cup. The Training Center Program is an integral part
of this process.
The
U.S. Soccer
Training Centers are single day, invitational training
sessions run by U.S. Soccer staff for elite players in key
soccer markets. Training Centers are
open to the top players from any team, club or organization
at no cost to the player. The purpose of the
Training
Center program is to
identify the best players for the U.S. Soccer Youth National
Team program.
Avery has
been with HFC since U10/U11. She is one of the few players
at HFC that has been able to play up an age group each
single season and plays for the HFC ’97 Blue Girls as a ’98
at the moment. This spring she will skip middle school ball
and will look for playing opportunities within HFC and
somewhere else since most of her teammates are playing high
school ball.
We at HFC are all very happy for her
and wish her all the best!
