HFC had an outstanding end to the fall season
with an impressive run at the State Championships.
As listed below, we featured 10 teams in the finals with 6
State Championships!
Congratulations to all of the coaches, supporting parents, and
players for a job well done!
HFC also posted the ONLY teams from North Alabama in the state finals.
That just serves as a strong reminder of our dominance in the
state and local markets.
For our younger players – make sure to check out
the indoor soccer offerings over the winter.
Merrimack will be opening
late February and then the spring will kick back off.
Teams in the U12 – 14 age groups usually see some attrition in
early spring due to middle school soccer.
No worries and each team is different but overall, HFC provides
training and games for the players with us during this time.
We work to pool groups together, mix players, etc. to gain
training efficiencies until the middle school players return.
Your coaches and managers should be providing the exact details
for your team during this winter break.
A sincere and tremendous thank you for the clubs
efforts in the poinsettia sale!
It was a record fund raiser and necessary to help grow the
general fund, which in turn keeps our fees from increasing.
Thanks to all of the parents and players that sold!
Congratulations to the prize winners as well even though I can’t
identify you yet… The organizers – Jennie Oliver,
Jane Thomas
and their staff of elves deserve major credit as well.
Thanks again!

Not playing High School soccer?
We are organizing a high school aged
program (U15 – U18 Boys and Girls) for the spring for those players not
involved with high school soccer.
This program is
OPEN
to players inside or outside of HFC.
This group will train with
our Technical Director of Coaching,
Henry Mpagi.
Training can start in late February, at
least twice per week, and carry through the entire spring leading into
tryouts.
If the numbers are sufficient, the team is
also available to participate in friendly games and/or tournament play.
That will be determined once numbers are
know.
Contact
Henry Mpagi
at
hmpagi@bellsouth.net to reserve your
slot.
The cost of training for non members is
$55 per month and $25 per month for HFC players.
Any game, travel, Merrimack
usage fee or tournament cost will be determined by the event.

HFC 97Girls Blue
goes undefeated at the CASL Girls College Showcase in Raleigh NC
Congratulations to the HFC 97 Girls Blue
Team for going undefeated in the “U15 Girls Elite AdiPure Bracket” at
the CASL Girls College Showcase. The girls ended up with a record of
3-0-0 after having scored 8 goals and only allowing in 1 goal! All 3
games were against well coached teams and were hard fought battles…The
girls represented HFC and themselves very well and had a lot of quality
moments out there on the fields. The girls are now headed to the GSA
Adidas College Women’s Showcase that will be held December 2-4, 2011 in
ATL.
HFC
96Girls Blue finish with a 0-1-2 record at the CASL Girls College
Showcase in Raleigh NC
A great effort by the HFC 96 Blue Girls - 2011 State
Champs show them finish with a 0-1-2 record in the “U16 Girls Elite
AdiPure Bracket” at the CASL Girls College Showcase. The girls played a
great brand of soccer in the first 2 games that saw them tying both
games 1-1, and 2-2 BUT had plenty of opportunities to win both of those
games. They lost the 3rd game 0-7 to a well-coached, talented, and
highly physical team from Canada that had a number of Canada U16 Youth
Players. At all 3 games, the girls got a chance to play in front of
several college coaches – which is the main reason why HFC offers the
opportunity to our elite teams to take part in these college showcases.
The girls are now headed to the Atlanta Final 4 Girls College Showcase
that will be held December 2-4, 2011
